Further Camp Description:

Practical Handgun is another way to say “action handgun” or “action shooting.” Campers are first taught safety rules (again and again.) Then instructors will work with campers “one on one” with grip, stance and sight picture and trigger control. After that will come introduction into drawing the gun from the holster and shooting while on the move or moving with a range officer from one box to another on the stage.
Camps can be offered in a variety of combinations. Handgun camps can be offered as a combination of beginner and intermediate. There is also a “combo” camp offered that is the handgun and rifle (AR-15 format). This “combo” camp of two different firearms is a little more demanding: The first two days of camp are about handgun. The last day of camp integrates learning how to shoot an AR-15 rifle at a variety of distances and from a variety of positions; from prone to up and moving. Rifle Camp

BABES WITH BULLETS & FRIENDS 3 GUN EVENTS:

April/November, 2013 – Babes with Bullets & Friends 3-Gun Event for Fall - SOLD OUT This very popular event is back again in 2013 and sells out almost a year in advance.  A Babes “alum” is allowed to bring a friend (man or woman) or come to the camp alone if they’d like to learn about rifles, shotguns and handguns. Head instructor, Kay Miculek, will be assisted by Jerry Miculek or another gentleman who is a national 3-gun competitor champion. Other 3-gun instructors will include Lena Miculek (who recently won the Junior title for World IPSC Shotgun in Hungary) and two time national 3-gun champion, Maggie Reese from Top Shot ®. Similar to the other Babes with Bullets camps we strive for a ratio of six students to each instructor.

For students who do not have their own equipment or prefer not to bring the firearms to camp there will be handguns and rifles provided by the camp Foundation Sponsor, Smith & Wesson. Another camp sponsor, Mossberg, provides the new .12 gauge 930JM competition shotgun while Bushnell (Babes with Bullets Platinum sponsor) with its family of products from Uncle Mike’s and Millett, provide holsters, shell caddies and scopes. .

If you are wondering about the 3-gun gear that is needed for the Babes with Bullets & Friends 3-gun camps take a look at the videos now available from head instructor, Kay Miculek, at www.Miculek.com.

The camps listed below will take place at the Miculek’s private range outside of Shreveport, LA. The 3-Gun camps will only provide lunch in terms of food.  There will be no lodging provided for the 3-gun camp however a list of nearby hotels and cabins is available by contacting camp director, Deb Ferns, at Deb@BabeswithBullets.com

Please note that men cannot register for this camp without a Babes with Bullet’s alum and this camp is geared toward the novice or intermediate student.  People who are currently shooting in 3-gun competitions already at B or higher USPSA level will not benefit from this camp. Campers must have a working grasp of all range safety rules and some exposure prior to camp of handguns, rifles and shotguns.
November 2013 – campers will arrive to the Miculek’s home range on Wednesday afternoon/evening of November 13th for a safety briefing.  Range days will be Thursday through Saturday, November 14th to 16th.
