Meet Our Camp Instructors:
Kay Clark Miculek –
Kay is the head instructor of the Babes with Bullets camps and the original host of the April 2004 event. She is a 14 time USPSA Champion in 3-Gun (combining action shooting in handgun, rifle, and shotgun). She is a 6 time USPSA Ladies Gold Team member and an IPSC World Team Champion. She is the European IPSC Rifle Champion and holds has several World Steel Challenge Shooting credits to her fame. She is married (Jerry) with 3 children and two grandchildren.
Deb Ferns – Camp Director since 2004, she is the host of the Babes with Bullets webisode series hosted at Outdoor Channel. Deb is the co-founder and chair of the Women’s Outdoor Media Association and works as an association meeting planner for the rail industry. Ferns competes in both USPSA handgun events along with multi-gun utilizing pistol, rifle, and shotgun. She is married (Gary) with two daughters and they reside in Tucson, AZ.
Lisa Munson –
Senior Instructor and 13 time USPSA National Handgun Champion. Lisa also has been a member of several World Gold Teams representing the United States in handgun competitions internationally. Lisa is married (Eric) with two children and resides near Seattle, WA.
Sheila Brey – First woman to achieve the coveted classification of “Master” within the United States Practical Shooting Association. Sheila is a many time national area champion and has competed in several world and international handgun matches as well. Sheila also enjoys shooting a variety of shotgun events including Sporting Clays. She is married (Mike) and lives near Syracuse, NY.
Annette Aysen- To her credit, Annette has multiple Revolver National Championships and is a member of the Smith & Wesson “Pro Team”. She also won the prestigious American Handgunner national steel match in limited division against both male and female competitors. Annette is married (Elliot) with one son and resides in Thibodaux, LA.
Maggie Reese – Maggie is a two time United States Practical Shooting Association National 3-Gun Champion (rifle, shotgun, pistol.) She was also a competitor on Top Shot ™ (Season 2) and was on the Silver Medal team at the 2011 World Handgun Championships in Greece. Maggie resides in Chino, CA.
Sheila Hoekstra – Sheila shoots a variety of handguns (revolvers and semi-automatics) in United States Practical Shooting Association competitions. Sheila started out as a Babes with Bullets camper several years ago and has won several regional awards as “high lady” in action shooting sports. Sheila works for On Target Gun Shop in Kalamazoo, MI, where she lives with her husband (Todd) and has one son.
Lena Miculek – In Fall 2012 Lena won her first international title in the World Shotgun “action” match held in Hungary. Throughout the years Lena has been part of the championship junior team for Sportsman’s Team Challenge, utilizing handgun, rifles and shotguns. Lena competes at a variety of the 3-Gun Nation and Multi-gun events across the country. She lives outside of Shreveport, LA, with her mom (Kay) and dad (Jerry.)
Deb Keehart – A long time handgun competitor in the United States Practical Shooting Association Deb has several “High Lady” area championships to her credit. She has also been on several winning teams representing the US at World Handgun Shoots across the world. She is a full time real estate agent for Coldwell Banker and resides in Mesa, AZ.
Athena Lee – One of the original instructors at the 2004 camp Athena is a very accomplished handgun shooter! She is a two time individual World Handgun Champion, on the United States World Handgun team winning two gold medals, plus two national titles in United States Practical Shooting Association and two World Speed Shooting Champion titles. Add that to her numerous regional, sectional and area matches as “high lady.” Athena was also on Season 2 of Top Shots ™. Originally from the Philippines Athena has been in the United States for several years and calls Houston, TX, her home.
Cindy Noyes – Cindy was one of the participants at the original 2004 camp and works for Glock Shooting Sports Foundation. Also a long time handgun competitor in the United States Practical Shooting Association, Cindy has several High Lady area championships to her credit in handgun and in 3-Gun. Cindy is married (Bill) and resides near Atlanta, GA.
